Since the New Year, I’ve started doing weekly planning again, and I’m back to bullet journaling as well. Nothing fancy or complex. I’m keeping it very simple. But it has helped me stay on track and focused, and it also motivates me to push myself a little extra on days when I don’t feel like, for example, working out or meditating. There will always be days when we don’t feel motivated, and that’s when discipline matters most. I’ve not been great at being disciplined. I give in to my emotions quickly because I want a “quick fix,” meaning a short boost of happiness for a moment.
One thing that has really helped me with this is habit trackers and keeping my days simple. My weekly planner will only have three things on the list, whether it’s plans, goals, or everyday to-dos; just three things I need to prioritize that day. Then I have my habit tracker, where I list my must-dos: meditation, reading, cleaning, journaling, no spending, working out, and no sugar. I haven’t kept up with all the habits every single day since 2025, but I’m more focused now, and I’m more willing to try to make it work and get things done!
The best part is that, besides helping me stay focused and more disciplined, I feel happier and better about myself when I take care of my needs, goals and health. It feels amazing! I also feel more grounded and less stressed.
