Besides resting and preparing for birth, my main focus in the month leading up to the baby’s arrival was to do whatever gave me energy and lifted me up.
Whenever I had the energy, I would make plans and try to be a little social—but only for 1–2 hours, because, you know… energy! :) I also worked out with my husband, since that made me feel good inside and out, so I prioritized our workout sessions a lot.
I got to read quite a bit and created a bunch of blog and YouTube content because it helped me forget the pain; my focus was on creating, which felt therapeutic. I also spent time bullet journaling. Since I had GDM, I needed to track everything I was eating, and doing it through bullet journaling just made it more fun and motivating. ;)
Then I started decluttering and making some changes around our home. Since I’m going to be home with the baby for the most part, it’s important for me that our space feels clean and has a good vibe, so I don’t get overwhelmed.
The other day, I went to get a lash lift and had my brows done; just a little treat for myself. I’ve also been shopping, since I’m getting bigger and really need clothes I can breathe in! :P
And that’s pretty much been life lately, right before baby arrived. Of course, there’s been all the baby prep, nesting, etc. but we’ll talk about that part in a separate blog post. ;)
So my list:
- Getting ready, putting on makeup and taking photos, creating content, experimenting with makeup and photography
- Creating YouTube videos again
- Meditation, journaling, and affirmations
- Reading books
- Netflix
- Working out
- Hanging out with friends whenever I had the energy
- Cleaning, decluttering, and organizing
- Getting a lash lift and got brows done
- Bullet journaling
