Lately I’ve been reading up a lot on ayurveda. One of my friends talked about it the other day and I’ve got motivated to want to learn more. I’ve been so sick recently that I’ve honestly just wanted to do something… anything… to support my immune system a bit more. At the same time, I’ve been craving that feeling of being a little lighter, a little more balanced, a little more well.
So I’ve started experimenting.
Nothing too strict or overwhelming; just playing around with ingredients and trying to put together something that feels good to eat, but also feels somewhat mindful in what it contains. I’m definitely no expert in ayurveda or healthy living (not even close), but I’m curious. I’m learning. And I think that counts for something.
This oatmeal bowl is one of those small experiments that I’ve been enjoying lately.
It’s warm, a little spiced, a little sweet, and honestly just really comforting. It has some ingredients that feel intentionally “healthy” like turmeric, cinnamon, seeds, nuts and then also things like peanut butter and dark chocolate, because I’m not trying to make life miserable in the name of health xD
It’s not 100% perfect. But it’s good. And it feels like a step in the right direction.
And I think that’s kind of where I’m at right now; not aiming for perfection, just trying to make slightly better choices where I can. Small steps like this feel manageable. They make the whole idea of becoming a “healthier version” of myself feel a lot less overwhelming.
And if it tastes good too, then that’s a win.
